In-Person Workshops
Homestead Art Workshops bring purpose back to creative play and empowerment. Come get your hands in the dough and your hearts reenergized, as you regain confidence in crafting delicious and nutritious staples such as sourdough bread and non toxic candles.
All workshops will be held at the Shunem Bread House in the Santa Ynez Valley.
All of our fresh baked artisan breads are available for purchase at Good Seed Coffee in Solvang, CA.

Customized Bread Workshop for Group/Company Event
As you spend an afternoon enriching your life by learning sourdough or challah, you will be updating equipment to protect the lives of doctors and medics in Israel.
Each workshop equips one member of a medic team with a new Helmet & Vest + Plates.
Each participant will take home fresh organic bread, and all proceeds go directly to purchase a new helmet & vest + plate.
These workshops are scheduled privately with a flat rate for up to 12 people.

Join a fun and educational time as we become familiar with the culture and origin of this most hallowed bread. During the class we will talk about the history and significance of the bread, and then put our hands in the dough to make a four-braid Challah to bake fresh and take home to enjoy!
All workshops can be scheduled privately with either a 6 person minimum or a flat rate. Individual enrollment is also welcome whenever workshops are publicized.

$190/per person, maximum 12 people
Join us for an immersive introduction into making simple, living bread at our Shunem Bread House. Using rare, organic heritage grains and pre-industrial techniques, you will experience making your own loaf to enjoy. All necessary ingredients are included, complete with heritage grains and mature sourdough starter that is yours to take, feed, and make your own loaves at home for years to come. This workshop is educational, edifying and complete with wine tasting as we work.

Get your hands in the dough and then pivot to learn the art of candle making with non-toxic beeswax that will create a gorgeous glow in your home for hours of enjoyment. This workshop includes two (2) non-toxic candles, 1 loaf of fresh-baked Challah and wine tasting while we work!

Join us at the Bread House to learn how to make this rare sourdough and it's uniquely delicious ghee, too! This pull-apart savory bread is slathered with smoked and aged “Samna” butter infused with roasted fenugreek seed and is mixed with nigella seed. This is an incredible combination for celebrations and once experienced, not soon forgotten. This class includes a fresh-baked loaf and a 2 oz pot of smokey ghee to take home and enjoy.
