This Memorial event is for the 1600+ souls lost from terror on October 7th in Israel, and in defending Israel since that day.
While many in the world rage, attention on the wretching grief we bear for our family and friends in Israel has been dimmed. We have an ancient commission “to become people of light”. Where concern for the intimate and graphic loss of life has dimmed, we desire to illuminate honor for those souls individually by taking in hand a candle for each name and forming the Star of David, symbolically becoming a people of light while standing at stone markers, representing those that perished.
“The soul of man is a candle of the Lord” Proverb 20:27
“The memory of the righteous will be for a blessing.” Proverbs 10:7 זכר צדיק לברכה
Let’s elevate honor in the wake of searing atrocities and pause for the holy gift that comfort is.
“The Spirit of Adonai Elohim is upon me, because Adonai has anointed me to... comfort all who mourn, yes, provide for those who grieve in Zion” Isaiah 61:1,2b-3a
